We hear a lot about people suffering from allergies in recent years. Usually, the children suffer from food allergies that get better over time. Adults on the other case, suffer from dust, pollens and more. These allergies worsen with time. Allergies can start as skin conditions like eczema and progress into eye irritation, throat pain and more. Mostly the allergies are due to genetic disposition. 

Importance of skin and how to keep it healthy

Skin is the largest organ of our body and it is also the organ in which most diseases originate. There are three layers of the skin – epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. While the epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, the hypodermis is the innermost layer. The skin acts as the natural defense layer of our body and also regulates the temperature inside our body. It produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.

PAP Smear test – How does it help in prevention of cervical cancer?

Cervical cancer has become very common in India. PAP smear test helps in the prevention of cervical cancer. PAP smear test is done using the cells collected from the cervix and it helps identify the cancer even before its onset. Cervical cancer in women is caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). PAP smear test will identify this virus in the patient’s body and with proper treatment, it is possible to prevent cervical cancer.
